Vidli Support January 31, 2010
We know video files are HUGE and can take a lot of time to upload. So we're here to help with the heavy lifting.
If you have 10+ videos it's easiest to send them our way and we'll ingest, transcode and prep them for you. Listed below is the best way to get us your videos. If you need additional assistance please contact us.
In a nutshell, we provide a base license price for each video which covers our operational costs to host and stream your videos. That's how we are able to make it free to license videos on Vidli.
The base license price is determined by an algorithm which looks at various licensing criteria (file size, distribution, video length, etc.). Vidli takes a small profit (that is a part of the base license price) from every licensing transaction. We only make money when you make money.
When you license your videos on Vidli you agree to the Content License Agreement. If you are sending us your videos manually please be sure to read the agreement before sending us files. We assume you have read and agree to the Content Licensing Agreement when you send us your files.
Vidli is capable of transcoding a large variety of digital file codecs. For simplicity, decreased uploading & processing time, we suggest using Quicktime H264 (.mov) files. This common, industry-standard streaming profile is our profile of choice.
There are two ways to send us your videos. The first is FTP. If you'd like to use FTP please contact us.
We prefer the old fashioned way. HerWe prefer that you send us a hard drive and then we will mail it back to you. If you don't have a hard drive we can send you one of ours and then you can send it back to us.

Important! We take digital rights very seriously at Vidli. If you are a content owner please make sure you have all model, talent, V.O., graphic, and any other kind of releases signed and documented before sending us your videos. All of this is stated on the website so if you send us files manually you are consenting that you are legally authorized to license the videos you send us per our licensing agreement. If you do not own content copyrights, have the appropriate releases or own distribution rights DO NOT send the videos. If you send them what you are doing is illegal and you will be held liable. For more information see the legal documents.
All Content Partners will be assigned a special Vidli representative to help get your videos ingested, prepped and ready to license on the site. If you need help or assistance email partners{at}vidli.com or post in this forum.
